SSA #55 Meeting
Draft of Minutes
Present: Keith Brandenburger, Loraine Reed, Toni Quinn
Absent: Maureen Harrigan
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 a.m.
- Snow Plowing- This was our first winter with the snow plowing. We had a difficult one. We are over budget as is all SSA’s. The contractor did a great job. We had a few complaints from business owners that were addressed with the contractor right away. The contractor was responsive and addressed all needs immediately. This being our first year, we didn’t know what to expect. We discussed future bids and what to look for and address at the beginning of next year. The board discussed providing the business owners with a comment sheet as to how they thought the service was. Mary will drop off at businesses and collect data to report at the next meeting.
- Budget- We are over budget for Snow Plowing. We are working on different places to move the money around so we can continue with our original plan. We will work to make sure that we still provide street maintenance and Christmas decorations for 2014, but may have to look into other options.
- Street Maintenance- Street maintenance has been in effect since Jan 1st. The commissioners have some concerns about the last three months. It was difficult with all of the snow we had to manage the work. Mary Gill has been in contact with the contractor and has set up a meeting with them to go over all the details and expectations. We will stay on top of this for the businesses to ensure that all work is being performed to standards.
Meeting adjourned at 8:45
Next meeting is Tuesday, July 1st at 7:30 a.m., at 3333 W. 111th St., Suite B
